The Grosse Pointe Park Recreation Commission set its near-term meeting schedule and asked members to collect resident ideas for new amenities beyond the five-year plan.
The commission agreed to meet June 15, August 19 and Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. in council chambers. Chair asked commissioners to 'talk to your friends and neighbors' and bring a list of potential long-term projects — examples raised included a golf simulator, amenities for older residents and a possible boardwalk replacement.
On meeting format, a commissioner said the current chamber layout makes conversation difficult and asked administration to explore alternate rooms or a U-shaped table setup. Commissioners also discussed technical fixes to increase remote access; one member suggested a low-cost mobile livestream solution, saying, "You could buy a new cell phone for $150 and live stream." Chair agreed to follow up with the city manager and staff on feasibility and posting requirements.
The commission also confirmed a November meeting (Nov. 18) and asked staff to post the approved June–September dates on the city website so the public can plan to participate.
