Osceola County schedules budget hearing, approves 3% pay increase and multiple fund transfers

The Osceola County Board of Supervisors on April 28 set a public hearing for May 22 at 9 a.m. on a proposed fiscal-year 2025–26 budget amendment and approved a package of fiscal actions, including a 3% pay increase for elected officials and numerous fund transfers.
A county staff member told the board that Resolution 13 would implement "a 3% raise for everybody." The motion to adopt the resolution was seconded and approved by roll call. Board members then moved through a series of transfers (resolution items numbered in the 15–24 range on the agenda) that shifted balances from amended TIF and other program funds into the general basic or other county funds; staff explained several transfers were needed because certain TIF accounts had completed collections and remaining balances had to be redistributed.
Board members asked procedural questions about timing and the purpose of specific transfers; each transfer was moved, seconded and carried by roll-call vote. The board also voted to set a May 22 public hearing at 9:00 a.m. to solicit public comment on the FY25–26 amendment.
The board’s actions on April 28 were procedural approvals and scheduling steps. The public hearing scheduled for May 22 will allow residents to comment before the board considers final budget amendments.
