Pottawattamie County supervisors approve two fund transfers, EMS Week proclamation and grant support

The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors on May 19 approved several routine actions, including two transfers that move $2,959,775.78 into county operating funds, a proclamation recognizing Emergency Medical Services Week, and a letter of support for a regional Safe Streets grant.
The board approved the consent agenda, which included the May 12, 2026 minutes and renewal of a Class C Retail Alcohol License for Lyle Ditmars d/b/a Ditmars Orchard and Vineyard in Council Bluffs. Supervisor Susan Miller moved to approve the consent agenda; Supervisor Jeff Jorgensen seconded the motion, which passed on a roll call vote with Supervisors Brian Shea, Tim Wichman, Susan Miller and Jeff Jorgensen voting aye; Supervisor Keith Jones was absent.
The board authorized the chairman to sign a letter of support for the FY26 Omaha–Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency Safe Streets and Roads for All supplemental planning and demonstration grant. Supervisor Susan Miller made the motion and Supervisor Tim Wichman seconded it; the motion carried on the same roll call (Jones absent).
The board also approved Resolution No. 35-2026, transferring $59,775.78 from the Pott County Industrial Park Fund to the Impact Fund, and Resolution No. 36-2026, transferring $2,900,000 from the Rural Services Fund to the Secondary Roads Fund. Resolution 35-2026 was moved by Supervisor Susan Miller and seconded by Jeff Jorgensen; Resolution 36-2026 was moved by Supervisor Tim Wichman and seconded by Susan Miller. Both resolutions passed by roll call vote: Shea, Wichman, Miller and Jorgensen aye; Jones absent.
During the meeting the board also adopted a proclamation designating May 17–23, 2026, as Emergency Medical Services Week in Pottawattamie County, noting the national theme “Improving Outcomes, Together.” Supervisor Miller moved to approve the proclamation and Supervisor Jorgensen seconded; the proclamation was approved by roll call vote (Shea, Wichman, Miller, Jorgensen aye; Jones absent).
The board received an informational update from The Wall That Heals committee on final plans for the exhibit over Memorial Day weekend and introduced several new county hires. No additional action was taken on those items. The meeting adjourned at 11:40 a.m.
