On May 26 the Davis County Commission approved multiple administrative items from the sheriff’s office and the treasurer’s office.
Chief Arnold Butcher presented two training reimbursement agreements that obligate trainees to provide service in exchange for certification costs: one payable of $18,630 and another of $19,666; if training commitments are not fulfilled the county may seek reimbursement. Butcher also introduced a pricing amendment to the Interactive Data contract that reduced county access costs to $140 per month based on lower utilization. Finally, the commission approved a master service agreement with Lexipol LLC for online data storage, annual corrections policy manuals and supplemental training at $33,061.12 covering calendar-year 2026.
Treasurer Matt Brady presented an amendment to the county’s Cashman armored-transport contract after review with the sheriff’s office and health department: the sheriff’s office was removed as a pickup client because its cash-handling volume did not justify service, and the health department’s pickup frequency was reduced from three to two times per week at a reduced rate. Commissioners approved the sheriff and treasurer items by voice vote.
What’s next: departments will execute and administer the training agreements, update contracts for Interactive Data and Lexipol, and the treasurer will implement the adjusted armored-transport schedule under the amended Cashman contract.
