Mullica Board honors retirees, introduces new staff and celebrates student and athletic achievements

Presenter (speaker 1) opened the recognitions by honoring teacher Chrissy Leonetti for 31 years of service (September 1995 through June 2026). The board will present her plaque and a certificate; presenter (speaker 1) said the staff will recognize Leonetti at a celebratory luncheon on the 19th and read the plaque language noting appreciation for her years of teaching.
The board also recognized student artist Ella Hanselman for winning the district’s centennial T‑shirt contest; presenter (speaker 1) presented a certificate and four Atlantic City Water Park passes as prizes. The volleyball team was introduced and Coach Todd Curl (speaker 5) announced the roster and reflected on the season, saying the 2026 squad finished 6–2 and were co‑champions of the Atlantic Cape Lee division. Curl, who said this will be his last season as volleyball coach, emphasized sportsmanship: “The most important thing you can learn in sports is how to lose,” he told the board.
The superintendent’s slate of new hires was introduced by presenter (speaker 1). New staff announced in the meeting include Gabby Boggs (preschool support; coming from Albright College), Molly Armando (early education, College of New Jersey; pursuing a master’s), Ava Hammons (kindergarten, recent Stockton University graduate), Lindsay Clark (middle school English language arts), Isabella Desario (special education co‑teaching, William Paterson University graduate), and Kim/"Kimber" (middle school English language arts, 20 years of middle school experience). Presenter (speaker 1) described hires’ credentials and welcomed them to the district.
Board members and community speakers also thanked staff and volunteers for the district centennial celebration and a large grandparents’ day turnout; a community commenter (speaker 6) praised teachers for supervising a student service project in extreme heat and the board offered public thanks.
Announcements and next steps Presenter (speaker 1) reminded the community that graduation is scheduled for June 17 at 6 p.m. at Cedar Creek School High School and that the event will be live‑streamed via a link provided on the district website. Moving‑up ceremonies for kindergarten and fourth grade are scheduled for June 5. PTA events, volunteer signups and a carnival day on June 11 were also announced. The Mullica Township Education Foundation (MTEF) reported it will accept applications for its four‑year scholarship — $1,000 per year — and will soon distribute paperwork for teacher grant applications.
The meeting closed after routine agenda business and a motion to adjourn carried by roll call.
