Resident urges action after repeated crashes at Copperstone Road bus stop

Jessica Radek, a resident at 1592 Copperstone Road, told the Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors on March 3 that vehicles repeatedly leave the road and strike her property at the curve where her children wait for the school bus.
"Last Saturday, a young driver came from Hershey... he took out 16 trees on my property," Radek said. She said the bus stop had been moved to her driveway for safety and that PennDOT’s chevron signs had been hit repeatedly. "I have spent thousands of dollars with boulders... I thought I lost my son because the car came through my living room," she said.
Township officials pledged to follow up. Chairman Campbell said staff would assign someone to contact Radek to review the history of complaints and coordinate next steps. "They can learn a little bit more about the history... and we will respond to you within a couple days or a day or 2," the chairman said.
A supervisor added that township liaisons and the public-works director are meeting with PennDOT the next day and that Radek’s location would be added to that list. The township did not make an immediate commitment to specific engineering changes; Radek said she had already pursued PennDOT and believed signs alone were insufficient because drivers keep hitting them.
What happens next: township staff will contact Radek and include the location in a scheduled meeting with PennDOT to discuss larger signage or other safety measures. The board did not set a formal timeline for any construction or sign installation at the meeting.
