Fulshear EDC B board welcomes three new members and elects officers

The Fulshear Development Corporation convened on May 27, 2026, to introduce three newly appointed B-board members and elect officers for the corporation. The board also approved minutes and routine payables before moving to project updates.

Patrick Powers, a returning board member and former city councilor, said he joined to continue serving the city and to learn from larger economic-development organizations: "I think the EDC is kind of like the Swiss army knife of the city," he said, adding he hopes to "add value to this board." Haim Schwartz said he has lived in Fulshear about 16 years and wants to bring his private-sector P&L experience to the city's economic work. Brown Otoo and Jennifer Hageman each spoke about their ties to Fulshear and interest in supporting local business growth.

After introductions, the board conducted nominations for the corporation's four officer posts. A slate of nominations was offered and voted on by voice. Blake Koepke was elected president; Mark Derwent was elected vice president; Patrick Powers accepted a nomination for secretary; a treasurer was nominated and approved. Each nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote.

The board also approved the April 2026 meeting minutes and the period payables for March 2026 by voice vote. The meeting record shows routine parliamentary procedure: nominations, seconds and roll calls by voice, with motions carried.

The corporation said new-member orientation and packet materials will be available to familiarize appointees with board duties and the fiscal-year timeline. The next board meeting is scheduled for June 15, 2026, when preliminary FY27 budget materials will be presented.

The meeting adjourned after brief announcements and congratulations to staff and board members.
