The organizer said some non-food vendors remain interested and that the group—identified as "Miller Matters"—is attempting to form a 501(c)(3) but currently operates as an informal coalition.
Councilors pressed for details and caution. Councilor Bragdon asked whether the organizers had engaged public-safety staff and whether a formal plan for street closures and safety oversight exists. The organizer said they had met earlier with town staff and public-safety representatives to sketch plans for street closures and logistics but acknowledged the group has not completed nonprofit paperwork.
The council made no funding decision during public comment. The chair and other councilors said the town cannot approve donations during the comment period and suggested the organizers meet with staff and the council after the meeting to work through documentation and any possible funding or logistical support. No money was approved at the July 10 meeting.
