Ossining officials highlight upcoming events, library programming and summer camp registration

During the opening of the May 6, 2025 special meeting, the Moderator delivered a series of community announcements and program notices intended for residents.
The Moderator invited residents to the town’s second annual Veterans Military Banner event on May 24 at the Ossining Public Library theater, beginning at 10 a.m., where community members will present names, branches and years of service for local service members. The Moderator also mentioned a Bethany Arts family mosaic workshop on May 10 (noon–4 p.m.) and noted upcoming Playland job fairs on May 10, May 17 and June 7 with on-the-spot interviews for early attendees.
Other items included recognition of the Riverkeeper shoreline cleanup turnout, a public-library program on May 14 featuring organist Ed Alstrom, and a Westchester Collaborative Theater launch of one-act plays. The Moderator reminded residents that summer camp registration for town programs remains open (camps run June 30–Aug. 8) and directed residents to the town’s official website for registration details. The Moderator also mentioned local resources for immigrant communities and the New York State Attorney General’s resource page on immigrant rights.
These remarks were delivered as the meeting opened and were presented as informational announcements rather than agenda items requiring board action. The meeting proceeded to its business agenda after public-service notices.
The board later entered executive session; the announcements were not the subject of a recorded vote.
