Town of Ossining board approves event permit, ChargePoint renewal, museum picnic rental and seasonal hire

On May 6, 2025, the Town of Ossining board approved four routine resolutions and a personnel appointment during a short special meeting.
The Clerk read a resolution authorizing the supervisor to sign a landlord authorization form for a New York State Liquor Authority special event permit for the Austin Fire Department inspection scheduled for June 21, 2025, at Lewis Engel Park. The resolution requires that the applicant provide proof of insurance and a letter of indemnity acceptable to town counsel. The Moderator moved the resolution and the board voiced approval.
The board also authorized the supervisor to sign a proposal dated April 29, 2025, from ChargePoint Incorporated of Campbell, California, to renew the town’s ChargePoint cloud plan and warranty for the municipal electric vehicle charging station. The Clerk presented the proposal, the Moderator moved the item and the board approved.
Separately, the board authorized the Sing Sing Museum Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation, to rent a town park picnic area (location to be set by the recreation department) on the last Saturday, Sunday and Monday of each month through Nov. 21 for use by museum tour attendees; the resolution noted a total cost of $1,500 for those attending museum tours and permitted the foundation to charge a reasonable, non-profit fee to help offset museum operating costs. That resolution was moved and approved.
On personnel, the Clerk read that Miss Hall of the Town Board appointed Jonathan Naiura to a seasonal laborer position in the town highway department at an hourly rate of $17, effective retroactive to May 5, 2025. The Moderator moved the appointment and the board approved.
Votes were recorded verbally as ‘Aye’ during each motion; the Clerk did not read a roll-call tally in the public record and the transcript records only affirmative responses. The board then moved into an executive session to discuss pending litigation, contracts and personnel matters.
The meeting’s actions authorize the supervisor to execute required paperwork for the special event permit and the ChargePoint proposal; the picnic-area rental and the seasonal hire are effective as stated in the resolutions.
