Committee backs PFAS apparel restriction; advocates cite health risks and alternatives

Ben Jobeck of Climate Revolution Action Network urged action to prevent PFAS from entering clothing and water systems, saying young people in particular are concerned about lifetime exposure. Witnesses cited state and multistate precedents and alternatives to PFAS in many applications.
After brief discussion the committee voted to adopt the substitute and released S1281 for further consideration.
