Lodi introduces five bond ordinances totaling $2.1 million and an affordable housing ordinance
Summary

The Clerk introduced multiple bond ordinances authorizing capital projects and financing for the Borough of Lodi and the council moved to introduce them for first reading.
Ordinance 20-26-01 would authorize up to $500,000 for municipal facilities improvements; Ordinance 20-26-02 would authorize $300,000 for sanitary-sewer work; Ordinance 20-26-03 would authorize $500,000 for the 2026 road reconstruction, curb and sidewalk replacement program; Ordinance 20-26-04 would authorize $500,000 to acquire new automotive vehicles and equipment for borough departments; and Ordinance 20-26-05 would authorize $300,000 for additional replacement equipment and machinery. The combined total of those five bond authorizations is $2.1 million.
Council members also introduced Ordinance 20-26-06, an ordinance to establish chapter 5-86 (an affordable-housing ordinance) to address the borough’s obligations under the Fair Housing Act and to ensure compliance with NJSA 52:27D-301 and the Uniform Housing Affordability Controls (NJAC 5:80-26.1). Each ordinance was moved, seconded and recorded as introduced; these actions constitute first readings and do not enact final appropriations or bond issuances.
Because these were introduction motions, the council did not adopt final ordinances at the meeting; each ordinance will return for the required subsequent steps, including public hearing and formal adoption before bonds are issued.
