Planning commission says POCD nearly complete; training opportunities announced

Commission Chair Jeff told the commission that the POCD subcommittee has roughly 90% of the agency sections completed and is updating maps and figures; the group is preparing draft sections and vision statements with the goal of providing commissioners a reviewable document before the July meeting.
"We're actually starting to see the semblance of a document," Jeff said, calling out updates to maps and figures and plans for an implementation section. Commissioners thanked the subcommittee for weekly meetings to assemble the draft.
Staff also summarized training opportunities from the zoning officer’s report: a June 12 webinar on affordable housing and 8-30g topics, a June 18 demonstration of a community renewable energy siting tool by Crest, and July 16 and July 24 fundamentals of site plan review workshops (registration deadlines and modest fees noted). Jeff asked commissioners to use online webinars to complete outstanding training hours where possible.
The commission described the June meeting as a lighter agenda but said the July meeting will include both the PRDD public hearing and further POCD review.
