Astra commission receives PRDD text amendment application, schedules public hearing

The Astra Planning and Zoning Commission voted June 9 to receive an application (PCC-25-2) proposing a new Planned Rural Development District (PRDD).
Chair Jeff said the application would establish section 320-0.2 to create the PRDD and noted staff submitted the proposal to CROG and NECOG for review. "They'll have it on our next agenda for a hearing next month," he said, describing the 30-day review window required for notice and regional comment.
Jerry moved to receive the application and Alex Estillo seconded; the commission voted in favor. The commission noted the filing triggers the formal public hearing process and that related materials will appear in meeting materials ahead of the hearing.
The commission also confirmed that submission to regional planning entities (CROG and NECOG) has occurred and that staff will schedule the PRDD hearing for the commission’s next meeting.
