Waldwick Zoning Board approves two homeowner variance requests; roll call votes unanimous

The Waldwick Zoning Board approved two residential variance applications during its meeting following presentations by applicants and their architects.

129 Longview Drive: The board heard an application from Tara Burke for modifications including a second garage bay and a covered front landing. The architect described changes to the porch, additional square footage at the rear and a revised streetscape. After questions from board members about setback measurements and neighborhood character, a motion to approve passed on a roll‑call vote. 23 Cambria Road: Joseph Calari sought a variance to add a rear sunroom and deck to his single‑family home and agreed during the hearing to trim one foot from a proposed deck run to fit an exemption threshold for “non‑performing” decks. The board voted to approve the application; the chair and board members recorded affirmative votes on the record. The board’s secretary reminded applicants that the formal memorializing resolution will be prepared and that the 45‑day appeal/filing period begins when the resolution is published.
