After brief, no-comment public hearings on April 28, the Henry County Board of Supervisors approved three rezoning applications.
R-26-04 (Jeffrey A. Scott): staff described a request to rezone about 16.5 acres adjoining 2303 Figsboro Road in the Reed Creek District from Rural Residential (R‑R) to Agricultural (A‑1) to allow an accessory storage building. The chair opened and closed the hearing with no public speakers; the Board approved the rezoning unanimously.
R-26-05 (Ruben Ramos Torres): staff said the property at 15 Ridgewood Road in the Reed Creek District is proposed for rezoning from Commercial (B‑1) to Suburban Residential (S‑R) to convert the structure to a single-family residence. No one spoke at the hearing; the Board approved the rezoning unanimously.
R-26-06 (Christopher D. Whitlow): staff described a request to rezone about 12.49 acres at 911 Bouldin Road in the Horsepasture District from Rural Residential (R‑R) to Agricultural (A‑1) for potential livestock and an additional storage building. The hearing drew no public comment and the Board approved the rezoning unanimously.
Why this matters: each rezoning changes permitted land uses and may affect future development, agriculture and property owners' options for constructing accessory buildings or converting commercial property to residential use.
What's next: the approvals are effective as recorded in the Board's minutes; any subsequent site development will proceed under applicable county permitting rules.
