After a recess to gather additional information, the Board agreed to approve two time-sensitive grants by unanimous vote: the Jobs for Virginia Graduates grant ($30,000; expenditure deadline May 15) and the ALL IN State Funds ($1,485,705; expenditure deadline June 30). The remaining grant items were deferred to the May 26 meeting pending extra information requested by supervisors.
Board members described the discussion as contentious before the recess. The two approved grants were moved by Supervisor Jeffrey S. Black and seconded by Vice‑Chair Jeffery M. Sili; Vote: Ayes — Unanimous.
No local match was required for the approved grants. The Board scheduled follow-up consideration of the remaining supplemental items at its next meeting.
