Virginia (1967) case that struck down bans on interracial marriage. The Board adopted the resolution by acclamation at its May 12 meeting.
Board members framed the designation as an educational and preservation opportunity for residents and visitors. The resolution calls for continued efforts to preserve the Courthouse Campus and to encourage future generations to understand the site’s significance to the Commonwealth and the nation.
