Garfield County approves series of appropriations, payroll claims and purchase orders

The Board also approved Garfield County Sheriff’s credit expenditures of $1,746.00.
The Board approved payroll claims (Warrant #3942-4197) totaling $247,182.45 and a detailed list of purchase orders covering general operations, highway maintenance, health department staffing, lease rentals and rural fire department needs. The minutes list many individual vendors and amounts (for example: Embassy Suites travel expenses, Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions $4,002.00, Yellowhouse Machinery capital outlay $11,500.00, Dietz Welding/Bridge Construction $85,000.00 for highway bridge/road improvement). The minutes record that blanket purchase orders on file were authorized for signature by the Chairman; in one vote the minutes record the Aye votes as Wedel, Maly and Loesch (Loesch is recorded in that vote but not included in the meeting’s initial ‘Present’ list, a discrepancy noted in the minutes).
Agenda items not acted upon were carried over to a later date. With no further business the Board adjourned and set its next meeting for May 26, 2026.
