The Greenville Planning Commission approved a development plan for Greenville Equipment at 801 E. Commerce Street during its Feb. 3, 2025 regular meeting.
Chairman Richard Branum opened the meeting at 4:30 p.m. and called the roll. Vice Chairman and Councilman Joseph West moved to accept the Dec. 2, 2024 regular meeting minutes as presented; Reverend Leander Robinson seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Building Official John Haire reported that no residential housing permits were issued for January 2025.
Chairman Branum then recognized property owner Thomas Phelps, who presented the plan for Greenville Equipment. Phelps described a proposed 10-foot canopy to be added around the building’s windows, saying the canopy "will reflect sunlight and keep the building cooler in summer." The commission did not record any public opposition or requested changes during the presentation.
Commissioner Eddie Cook moved to accept the development plan as presented; Vice Chairman and Councilman Joseph West seconded the motion. Chairman Branum announced the motion carried with a unanimous commission vote.
A plat illustration of the site appears with the minutes. With no further business, the commission adjourned at 4:36 p.m.
