Contractor says Court Street closure discussed for Madison County courthouse project

Alec LaBelle of Jackson Contracting Group told the Madison County Board of Commissioners during their May 11 work session that the contractor has been in touch with the town about the closure and related logistics. Commissioners William A. Todd, Duke W. Gilman and Ron E. Nye asked questions about timing and coordination with local officials.
The update did not include a timetable or specific traffic-control plans. Madison County staff and the contractor said they would continue coordinating with the town before implementing any street closures.
The work session minutes do not record a vote or directive on the closure; commissioners treated the item as an update and discussion. The board recessed at 10:37 a.m. and reconvened at 1 p.m. before adjourning later in the day.
