Council approved the awards unanimously.
Events staffer Ryan reviewed spring programming highlights: the Taste & Sounds series, a Symphonica de Minoria concert with local student participation, Dreamboats concert (about 2,200 attendees), and Cathedral City LGBT+ Days (reported at over 12,000 attendees). Staff also cited the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic as producing broad tourism impact and noted partnerships with local businesses and sponsors.
Council members praised staff and commissioners for event production and cross‑promotion and asked staff to provide residency breakdowns of attendees for future reporting. No public opposition was recorded for the grants.
