City staff and Fire Chief Contreras told the council that the county is moving to a technology standard that makes the ZOLL X Series the required platform for hospital and county CQI (continuous quality improvement) reporting. Chief Contreras described features including remote viewing, case‑review tools, traumatic brain injury monitoring and real‑time CPR feedback. He said the quote is time‑sensitive and expires June 30, 2026.
Staff provided an estimated total in the meeting (staff said the overall estimated amount was about $389,117) and noted trade‑in credits and negotiated county pricing would affect the final purchase price. The city manager clarified the council would authorize the city manager’s designee to execute final documents and numbers would be finalized with the vendor.
Council members asked about life cycle and warranty; staff said the units come with a five‑year warranty and that trade‑in values vary by device age. No public speakers addressed the item. The council approved the authorization by unanimous vote.
Staff said the purchase will be processed through the equipment replacement fund and will include a service contract and training as part of the procurement.
