At its regular meeting, Chadron City Council approved several consent and procurement-related resolutions and authorized staff to proceed with specified actions.
Resolution 2025-102: The council voted to approve specifications and authorize notice to dealers for a model-year 2025-or-newer 4x4 utility vehicle (UTV) with trade-in and equipment options for the parks and cemetery department. Staff said the item is budgeted and intended to support winter sidewalk clearing, sprinkler repairs and general park maintenance.
Resolution 2025-103: The council approved a community development grant of $13,980 to the American Legion Bill Dowling Post 12 to replace two front windows and to purchase a three-basin kitchen sink and faucet. The packet noted the community development advisory committee voted unanimously in favor.
Resolution 2025-104: Council approved payment application No. 1 to Fuller Construction Company for work on the 6th and Maple repair project. Staff reported meeting with Fuller Construction and engineers on timeline and testing; staff said the project may open to traffic next Monday or Tuesday pending a seven-day cure and weather. The pay estimate figure in the packet was read aloud by staff as presented.
Why it matters: These routine procurement and grant approvals move several municipal projects forward — parks maintenance capability, a community building upgrade, and a street repair contract nearing completion.
What’s next: Staff will issue notices to dealers for the UTV, finalize vendor/grantee disbursements and process the next (final) pay estimate for the street-repair project.
