Students celebrated for DECA wins and McLeod Elementary honored with Beacon recognition

Janine Ponce, student council reporter for Dwight Morrow High School and the Academies at Inglewood, reviewed March activities and achievements: 46 students attended the DECA state competition in Atlantic City, nine qualified for the national conference, and multiple students earned placements across categories including entrepreneurship, marketing management and financial services. "I’m honored to present the March Board of Education monthly report on behalf of our school community," Ponce said.
Separately, the principal of McLeod Elementary (presenting as principal of the school) announced a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence designation through the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence program, noting the school’s multi-year improvement work, extensive self-assessment and external validation. A McLeod teacher, Elizabeth Ritzoff, representing ETA, praised colleagues and students for the achievement and thanked administrators and families for support.
