Knightdale names winners of 2025 Community Appearance Awards

Knightdale announced the winners of its 2025 Community Appearance Awards, a yearly program run since 2013 to recognize residents and properties that contribute to the town’s streetscape and public spaces, the Presenter said.

The Presenter said the awards, selected by the land use review board, honor three types of impact this year: a standout new site, a thoughtful renovation and ongoing community stewardship. "In Knightdale, the way a place looks says something about the people who care for it," the Presenter said.

The new-building award went to the lofts at 341 Sugar Magnolia Lane. The Presenter described the project as one that "adds energy, style, and a sense of arrival," and said it does more than fill space, it "elevates it."

The renovation award was given to Edward Jones at 16 Main Street. The Presenter said the update demonstrates how revitalization can preserve what works while improving the streetscape and community pride.

For volunteer stewardship, the town honored Doug and Patricia Crockett for their sustained work on the Mango Creek Greenway through the adopt-a-trail program. The Presenter credited the Crocketts with "cleaner trails, cared for spaces, and a community that feels loved 1 step at a time."

The Presenter congratulated all of the 2025 award winners and encouraged others to look around their neighborhoods for ways to contribute to shared spaces. No formal votes or ordinance actions were recorded in the announcement.

The recognition is symbolic; the Presenter did not announce funding, regulatory changes or follow-up actions tied to the awards.
