Council members emphasized the project’s likely near-term benefit to parents and school drop‑off/pick‑up traffic and noted NCDOT staff said they will consider peak traffic hours during construction. No formal action was required of the council at the meeting.
Council asked staff to monitor NCDOT scheduling and traffic‑management coordination during construction and to notify residents when the contractor is selected and when work will begin.
