Pine Bluff council approves one-year extension for project-management support in software transition

A city presenter described the work as a multi-phase project that is expected to run through several years and said the contract extension will keep a project manager in place to coordinate subject-matter experts, oversee data migration and hold vendors accountable.
Mayor (S3) said the administration pursued competitive bids and included the project-management firm in the packet. "We are getting someone who is expert in ERP systems to make sure that the system is properly configured before we go live," the mayor said. A staff presenter (S2) added that power-user testing and a stabilization period are critical steps to prevent operational failures after launch.
Council voted to authorize the mayor to execute the extension on the same terms and conditions as the existing agreement. The resolution as read in the meeting packet named a firm for the extension (the transcript includes several spellings of the vendor name); the council did not provide additional vendor detail during the public portion of the meeting.
The council also discussed related IT work: an earlier internal audit and recent IT reviews identified vulnerabilities in the city's email and ticketing systems, which the administration is addressing as part of the broader transition.
