Council approves milk-can mural for Monroe Lion’s Park stage

Joelle McCarthy, representing Magnify Monroe, presented two mural design options for the back wall of the Monroe Lion's Park stage: a log-cabin quilt motif and a milk-can design. Councilmembers favored the milk-can design for its color and visual interest, acknowledging the design would be detail-intensive and that the artist would determine how best to execute it.
Councilmember Ryan Johnson moved to approve the milk-can mural; Councilmember Jason Bagley seconded and the motion passed by unanimous vote of the councilmembers present.
