Oswego swears in two officers, names business and arts award winners

The Village of Oswego used part of its May 26 meeting to swear in promoted and newly hired police personnel, recognize local arts and businesses, and adopt several routine appointments.
Police promotions and hires: the board administered the oath for Anthony J. Dinotoli upon promotion to sergeant and swore in patrol officer Andy Spinos. Police leadership and family members were present for the ceremonial pinning and introductions; the chief and board extended congratulations.
Business and arts recognitions: Discovery Inspection Services was recognized as May’s Business of the Month; owner Jeremy Meek accepted and briefly thanked those who nominated the company. The board also honored student winners of the Hometown Expo art competition and invited one student to describe the inspiration for her 3‑D treehouse piece.
Appointments and proclamations: the board approved appointments of Donna Bradford, Patricia Jackson and Stephen Miller to the Cultural Arts Commission with terms through 04/30/2029. President Coffman read proclamations honoring D‑Day (06/06/2026) and National Rescue Dog Day (05/20/2026), and thanked community groups for recent Memorial Day events.
Procedure/follow up: the appointments and proclamations were adopted by motion and roll‑call vote where required; staff will track start dates and commission term expirations. The meeting closed after trustee reports and a motion to adjourn passed on roll call.
