Farmington Hills City Council approved its consent agenda, postponed a Freedom of Information Act appeal at the appellant's request and appointed members to an Activity Center ad hoc advisory committee during its regular meeting.
Mayor pro tem Boulware read the consent agenda, which included the Farmington Public Schools–Farmington Hills Police Department school liaison officer cooperative agreement (CMR32628), a backup server purchase from People Driven Technology Inc. for $104,475 (CMR32629), and an employment request for a police cadet under the city charter (CMR32630), as well as minutes from the February 23, 2026 study session and regular session. A motion to approve consent items 7 through 9 was made and seconded, and the council approved the items by roll call. A second motion approved items 10 and 11 similarly by roll call.
On a separate agenda item, the city attorney briefed the council on an appeal of a FOIA decision filed by Peter Strickfadden; the attorney said Strickfadden asked to postpone the appeal hearing to meet with staff and preserve his rights. Councilmember Bridges moved to postpone the FOIA appeal until the April 13, 2026 regular meeting; the motion carried.
For the Farmington Hills Activity Center ad hoc advisory committee, the council appointed representatives for one-year terms ending 02/01/2027: Steve Stimpson (Parks and Rec Commission), Daniel Fonter (Commission on Aging), Cynthia Gottlieb (senior community member), Peyton Paimon (community member), Councilmember John Aldred, and Mayor Teresa Rich. The motion to approve the appointments was supported and carried on a regular vote.
All motioned items on the consent agenda and the appointments passed as recorded in the meeting; the FOIA appeal was formally postponed to the April 13 meeting. The council adjourned and announced it will next meet on March 23, with the postponed FOIA appeal scheduled for April 13.
