Resident urges notice if Nob Hill demolitions lead to rezoning
Summary
A Nob Hill resident urged the city to notify neighbors and mail notices if a zoning change is proposed for three recently demolished houses on Club Drive; the mayor said the properties are zoned residential and any rezoning would trigger Planning Commission review, required signage, and mailed notices to adjacent owners.

Marlene Tillman, a resident of the Nob Hill neighborhood, told the mayor and council she is concerned after three large houses were torn down at 2622, 2632 and 2652 Club Drive and asked the city to ensure neighbors would be notified if a rezoning is later proposed.
"That covers a huge swath of land at the top of the subdivision... It would be horrible to have a subdivision split with a commercial property," Tillman said, asking for neighborhood signs and mailed notices if a zoning change comes forward.
Mayor Barbara Bender responded that the properties are currently zoned residential and that any change would require review by the Planning Commission and later the mayor and council. The mayor said the city posts yellow signs in neighborhoods and that adjacent property owners would receive a mailed notice. "So nothing's gonna happen in that neighborhood without your knowledge," Bender said.
No rezoning application or vote was before the council at the meeting; the mayor said she believed the houses had been torn down because of prior code enforcement issues and that she had no knowledge of an immediate plan to change the zoning.
