Board spotlights Timberview, Homeschool Academy and Academy Endeavor and approves seven administrators

The Academy District 20 Board of Education opened its meeting with school spotlights featuring Timberview Middle School, Homeschool Academy and Academy Endeavor Elementary.

Rodney Pearson, Timberview’s outdoor education instructor, described a sixth year of an outdoor education program focused on team building, survival skills, wildlife study and Leave No Trace principles. Students Hunter and Levi Thompson described field trips — including snowshoeing at Mueller State Park, geocaching and environmental activities — that staff said build student connectedness and conservation ethic.

Keisha Hill, principal of Homeschool Academy, reported robust enrollment and growth in applications and outlined on‑campus programs (arts, STEAM and outdoor education) that serve K–12 families. Carrie Mitchell, principal at Academy Endeavor, highlighted strong school choice participation and extensive club and extracurricular involvement among students.

The board then considered personnel items. Superintendent Haber presented seven recommended administrator hires (multiple assistant principals and an assistant director for communications). The administrators addressed the board and thanked the district for the opportunity.

Those appointments were included in the consent agenda. The board moved, seconded and approved the consent agenda on a roll call vote, recording unanimous approval.

Why it matters: School spotlights give the board and the public a view of classroom and extracurricular work across district schools; the approved administrators will fill leadership roles in schools ahead of the next school year.

Next steps: New administrators will assume roles later in the spring/early summer as posted in human resources communications.
