Council staff and members reviewed plans for the Nontraditional Alternative Education Summit scheduled for April 7–8 at the Putnam County Convention Center in Cookeville. Registration was expected to open at the end of the month and the program will include a keynote by Assistant Commissioner Deb Noll on postsecondary topics, morning general sessions, and afternoon breakout sessions.
Organizers said they expect a program targeted to alternative education staff, juvenile detention center administrators and residential treatment staff, and plan roundtable sessions to let local ALC leaders share lessons and practices. Staff asked members to circulate registration details to district contacts once registration opens and to consider attending.
