Trustees also approved a facilities contract and a separate equipment purchase for Scribner Middle School’s failing walk‑in freezer and cooler. Facilities staff recommended awarding construction to AML Construction Inc for $199,690 (construction cost only); the district’s food‑service department will fund equipment purchase, refrigeration system and installation. The board voted 7–0 to approve the construction contract and separately approved the equipment purchase (the presenter said the food‑service director, Ms. Beach, has funds to cover the equipment).
On special education, the board approved a student residential placement resolution that authorizes Dr. Madison to sign residential placement contracts on behalf of the district so placements need not wait for a board meeting. Ms. Lamley said the district recently prepared a residential contract through the Department of Education for a student being considered for Daymar in Indianapolis; the board approved the resolution 7–0.
