BRECKSVILLE, Ohio — The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Board of Education on Wednesday approved a broad consent agenda of personnel and routine items, adopted updated board policies and awarded a contract for campus pavement improvements.
The board approved consent items 7a–7f — covering certified, classified and supplemental personnel recommendations, the check register, donations and minutes — on a 5–0 roll-call vote. Board members listed in roll calls were Mister Chase, Missus Galick, Missus Kwiatkowski, Miss O'Meara and Mister Dosan.
During the consent discussion administrators noted it is "contract season," with several staff moving through continuing-contract review or being offered renewed assignments. Two new hires present at the meeting were introduced to the board.
The board adopted revised board policies (item 8b) as the final reading; the motion passed 5–0. The policies had been discussed at prior meetings and were presented as a culmination of that review.
On contracts, the board approved Always Construction LLC for the 2026 pavement improvements project (item 9b). The work covers the S-curve area between the middle and high school buildings, the parent drop-off area and portions of the high-school lot. Administrators described the project as modest relative to other campus work already underway and said construction is part of the district's planned permanent-improvement program. The motion passed on roll call 5–0.
Other superintendent recommendations approved on Wednesday included agreements for out-placed student services and transportation partnerships (items 8f–8i) and adoption of the 2026–27 student-fees schedule (item 9a), which the treasurer said contains no fee increases from the current year.
One personnel vote drew a single abstention: item 8a, which approved summer classified personnel recommendations related to extended-school-year special-education support, passed with four yes votes and one abstention (Missus Kwiatkowski).
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for June 24, 2026, at 6 p.m. and adjourned the session by unanimous vote.
