The Ossining Union Free School District Board of Education approved a series of routine and personnel items on Jan. 28, including a resolution granting tenure to a professional staff member and multiple consent‑agenda motions.
After the superintendent’s update the board moved to take up agenda item 7.1 (resolution regarding professional staff tenure appointments). The motion passed on a voice vote. Dr. Novar recognized Rebecca Franklin for earning tenure; trustees and district leaders congratulated her. "Tenure is such an incredible milestone in a professional's career," the superintendent said.
The board approved consent agenda items 4.1–4.4 (2026–27 school calendar, consultant appointments and minutes approvals) and business items 5.1–5.4, including establishment of the Gael Moyse Memorial Scholarship and a change order for Brookside contractor Unimac LLC. Personnel consent resolutions 6.1 and 7.2–7.13 (resignations, appointments, substitute authorizations and volunteer approvals) were also adopted by voice vote. No roll‑call tallies were recorded in the transcript.
Administratively, the board voted to postpone agenda item 2.2 (business office matter) to the Feb. 4 meeting because the business official was absent for a personal matter.
On policy, trustees conducted first readings and approved as first readings the school district records regulation, voting procedures, board reorganization meeting timing, and information and data privacy policy/regulation (policy numbers cited during the meeting). Those are first‑reading approvals; the board flagged them for legal compliance and implementation timing.
The meeting adjourned after board reports and a brief discussion of community engagement and an advance public‑comment suggestion; there were no public commenters in person or online for the agenda items at this meeting.
