Redwood County approves large disbursements, vendor payments and interest transfers

The Redwood County Board approved several financial actions on Jan. 20, including formal acceptance of January 2026 disbursements totaling $9,628,692.29 and multiple vendor payment lists covering county, city and school district obligations.

Auditor/Treasurer Jean Price presented the cash-balance and investment summaries and the Board voted unanimously to approve the reports and disbursements. The meeting record includes detailed vendor lists and fund totals across numerous segments of the minutes. The transcript identifies vendor payment totals in several groupings and multiple final totals for vendor batches.

The Board also approved transfers of 2025 interest: $240,278.13 to Road & Bridge; $74,751.61 to Soil & Water; $65,195.12 to Insurance; and $2,721.41 to Ditch Bond Debt Services. Those transfers were approved on a motion by Commissioner Salfer with Wakefield seconding.

In Road & Bridge business, the Board approved a Professional Engineering Services Agreement with Widseth for SAP 064-610-036 (CSAH 10 widening) pending county-attorney approval, and approved an out-of-state travel request for Matt Guetter to attend an ATSSA workshop at a cost of $716.39.

Why it matters: these approvals move significant county funds, shape upcoming transportation projects, and set procurement and travel authorizations for staff.

Next steps: Auditor/Treasurer to record disbursements and interest transfers; County Attorney to review the engineering services agreement before execution; County Engineer to oversee project steps for the CSAH 10 widening if the contract is finalized.
