Chris Bass, presenting the staff report, said the proposed annexation area would total roughly 20 acres and cited a 2026 county-assessor valuation near $5,000,000.
Council discussion reflected differing views about the timing and scale of growth. During committee review, some members said they previously declined a similar petition three years earlier and favored measured, steady growth. When the council voted on Resolution 18-76, the chair announced the motion failed to pass.
The staff report described procedural next steps under state law for petitions but no further council action on this petition was taken at the meeting.
