Commissioner withdraws motion to allow Sharp Mountain driveway placement after staff objections

"I don't see it as unreasonable to the level that would give us cause to override our engineering team on a decision that is really within their expertise much more than ours," the chair said, urging deference to staff on technical traffic decisions. Commissioners also worried that future development across the street could increase traffic on the two entrances, making alignment more important later.
Commissioner Cagle withdrew the motion to give the developer the opportunity to return with a more concrete plan; the chair said the board would take no action on the item at that meeting. The withdrawal leaves transportation staff to continue working with the developer and to present a proposed alternative for formal consideration at a later meeting.
