Planning commission approves preliminary plat for 24‑lot Stone Haven subdivision

The Morristown Regional Planning Commission voted 8–0 on June 13 to approve the preliminary plat for the Stone Haven Subdivision, a proposed 24‑lot, 24.75‑acre development off Brights Pike.
Planning Director Steve Neilson told commissioners the property is zoned R‑2 (Medium Density Residential) and that proposed lot sizes range from about 9,602 to 36,064 square feet, above the R‑2 minimum of 7,500 square feet. "The proposed streets combined include approximately 1,500 linear feet of roadway," Neilson said, describing a cross‑section of two 12‑foot lanes with curb and gutter and a 4‑foot sidewalk within a 50‑foot right‑of‑way. He added that Morristown Utility Systems reviewed the utility plans and recommended approval and that revised plans had been submitted to address Public Works comments.
"Staff recommended approval of the preliminary plat for Stone Haven Subdivision," Neilson said. Secretary Rose Parella moved for approval; Vice Chairman Bill Thompson seconded the motion. The commission recorded an 8–0 vote in favor and the motion carried.
The commission did not record further conditions in the minutes beyond staff and agency reviews and the recorded vote. The meeting adjourned following the vote.
