Planning staff presented the request for Noah Bennett’s property and said the planning commission recommended approval. "It's right there at the mouth of Antimony Canyon," the planning presenter said, describing three existing RV spots with capacity to add three more if needed and noting that the primary purpose was housing for mine employees rather than public nightly rentals.
A commissioner moved to approve the zone change from agricultural to commercial and a second was recorded. The chair called for the vote and the motion passed; commissioners voiced assent on the record and the chair confirmed approval.
Commissioners discussed the housing as a short-term solution that could also evolve into longer-term housing if demand persists. No conditions or additional mitigation requirements were recorded on the motion as presented at the meeting.
