Bay City ISD board approves consent agenda, hires contractual personnel and advances real-property action after closed session

The Bay City Independent School District board approved its consent agenda, authorized hiring of contractual personnel discussed in closed session and voted to move forward on a real-property matter during the March 23 meeting.

The chair called for a motion to approve the consent agenda and a trustee moved to "approve the consent agenda as presented in the board book." The motion was seconded and the chair announced the consent agenda passed 4–0 by voice vote.

The board then entered executive session at 6:51 p.m. under Texas Government Code §551.074 (personnel matters) and §551.072 (deliberation of real-property matters) and returned to open session at 8:16 p.m. Upon return, a motion to approve hiring contractual personnel discussed in closed session was made, seconded and approved by voice vote 4–0. The board subsequently moved forward a motion on the purchase/exchange/lease or value of real property that had been discussed in closed session; that motion also passed by voice vote 4–0.
