Williams Township sends proposed zoning amendments for review and declines to pursue a resident’s wildflower grant request

The Board authorized sending proposed zoning ordinance amendments to the Planning Commission and LVPC for review, authorized solicitor and engineer to attend an August 28 Zoning Hearing Board meeting, and decided not to move forward on a citizen-proposed native wildflower grant application for the Melchor Tract.
The Williams Township Board of Supervisors authorized staff to circulate proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments concerning zoning permits to the Township Planning Commission and the LVPC for review and comment. Supervisor Michael Bryant moved to send the amendments for review; Vice Chairperson Raymond Abert seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Zoning Officer Suzanne Borzak had asked the Board to authorize the Township solicitor and engineer to attend the August 28 Zoning Hearing Board meeting; the Board approved that request 3-0.
During the Manager’s report, Melody Ernst told the Board an email from Matt Little proposed applying for a Native Wildflower Grant for the Melchor Tract but did not include exact costs; Mr. Little said the Township would need to provide herbicide and mowing equipment. After brief discussion the Board declined to have Mr. Little proceed with the grant application.
The Zoning Hearing Board will not meet on July 24, according to the Zoning Office report in the minutes.
