District reports smoke testing, slipline repairs and Table Mountain pipeline work

TWSD staff reported Dec. smoke testing found 14 manholes needing repair and six illegal connections; the district completed an $49,371 slipline fix at Linkside and Duke Sherwood Contracting began the Table Mountain pipeline replacement with about 440 feet installed as of Jan. 13.
Manager Boucher reported operational and capital activity across the district during the Jan. 20 meeting.
Boucher said the utility crew conducted smoke testing of the distribution system Dec. 8–17 to locate infiltration and defects; the crew identified 14 manholes needing repair and located six illegal connections, many of which staff addressed by contacting customers and making repairs to missing caps, cleanouts and covers.
He reported the District contracted Hall's Plumbing on Jan. 7 to slipline eight sewer I&I issues at Linkside for a total cost of $49,371; the work was completed in one day. Boucher said Duke Sherwood Contracting began the Table Mountain pipeline replacement Jan. 8 and had installed approximately 440 feet of pipe as of Jan. 13; the project is on schedule.
Engineer Heindell updated the Board on the Golden Feather wastewater consolidation project, saying paperwork has been submitted to the State and work approved by CPN (backstopped by SC‑OR) is expected to start the following Monday; staff hope for a State reimbursement decision by March or April, otherwise the district may invoice SC‑OR.
