Chase County commissioners approve claims totaling $634,328.18, minutes and amended SLCGP agreement

The board also approved the minutes of the April 28, 2026 meeting by unanimous vote. Commissioner Bernhardt then moved to sign an amended 2022 Sub-Recipient Agreement for SLCGP funds to turn back $2,503 that were unable to be utilized; Commissioner Muehlenkamp seconded and the motion passed 3–0.
During open forum, Julie Sharp provided an update on the KENO Backpack Program and clarified the program will not use county general funds, though state KENO funds may be utilized for the backpack initiative. The board reviewed routine correspondence, including the City’s annual TIF report, Fair Board minutes and monthly reports from the county clerk and treasurer, before adjourning at 9:11 a.m.
