Mayor Pro-Tem Pete Herrmann moved adoption and Councilmember Brian Williams seconded; the ordinance passed 7-0.
Council members discussed potential traffic displacement onto US Highway 271 S and State Highway 300 and recommended working with Gilmer ISD to find additional traffic-flow options. Councilmember Jerry Webb urged staff to publicize the change and issue warnings before assessing tickets, to allow time for community adjustment.
