The Somers Central School District Board of Education conducted multiple routine votes during its May 26 meeting. Actions approved included acceptance of warrant reports and the treasurer’s budget-status report; approval of minutes from April 21 and May 5 and May 8 meetings; personnel and business consent agendas; and acceptance of the results of the 05/19/2026 annual budget vote and trustee election.
Specific approvals on the business consent agenda included authorization to execute a side letter of agreement between the district and the Swimmers Faculty Association (SFA) related to a curriculum-leader co-curricular stipend position, and approval of an athletic-team merger for boys volleyball for the 2026–27 season. The board also authorized district signatures to cast a vote on a Section 1 constitution/bylaws referendum and approved travel for board members to the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association annual meeting.
Finally, the board approved second-reading adoptions of amended policies (media relations; school safety plans and teams; alcohol/drug testing for drivers; professional staff development) after confirming no substantive changes since first reading. Votes were recorded as "Aye" in the public meeting transcript; the transcript records motions and seconds but does not supply a roll-call vote with each member’s name for every motion.
