At its meeting the Janesville‑Waldorf‑Pemberton school board approved a package of routine and personnel items on the agenda, including several policy adoptions, unrequested leaves of absence, nonrenewals and a memorandum of understanding with the teachers association.
Policy and consent items approved included final adoption of family and medical leave and other personnel and student policies, immunization and pupil records protections, testing accommodations and a district budget adoption policy. The chair called each motion and votes were recorded as carried, typically by a 7‑0 roll call.
On personnel matters the board approved a 0.45 FTE unrequested leave of absence for Adam Hilly (band teacher) and a 0.55 FTE unrequested leave of absence for Josh Sorensen (choir teacher). The board then voted to nonrenew one FTE each for Melissa Smith (elementary special education) and Nathan Pedersen (media center specialist). The board also approved a memorandum of understanding to the JWPEA master agreement by unanimous vote.
Several motions were moved and seconded on the record and most votes were taken by roll call; the chair announced final tallies and declared motions carried. The board set its upcoming meeting schedule and adjourned at 06:26.
