Board approves administrative hires and a bridge contract for incoming facilities director

The Fairbanks Local School Board approved several administrative contracts, including a bridge contract to compensate incoming Director of Facilities Kenneth Hall for June and July at a bridge/daily rate before his three-year contract begins Aug. 1.
Superintendent (S3) explained Kenneth Hall is starting earlier than his contract date, so the district will pay interim compensation for June and July and then move to the annual three-year contract on Aug. 1. “He will have a bridge contract for June and July because administrative contracts start August 1,” S3 said.
The board also approved contracts for other administrative and certified staff (Gordon Carter for assistant principal; Ashley Thompson at CAU; certified-contract approvals for Ian Arthur, Kristen Zingler and Lisa Stuckerman). S3 noted Kristen Zingler’s position has been funded by the Project Aware grant and staff plan to transition systems knowledge to district personnel over the coming year.
Motions for these personnel items were moved, seconded and carried during the consent and administrative-contract portions of the meeting. Next steps: HR and central office staff will finalize contract paperwork and confirm effective dates.
